    Carlos "Sonny" Dominguez has over 40 years of experience managing various organizations in the public and provate sectors. He was a shareholder, and board chairman or member of over a dozen corporations across various industries such as power, agriculture, mining, banking, hospitality, real estate, and investment.

    Notable positions held by Sonny were Cabinet Secretary of the Environment and Natural Resources and Agriculture during the Presidency of Corazon Aquino, past president of the leading Philippine corporations such as Philippine Airlines and the Philippine Associate Smelting and Refining Corporation, and the former Bank of the Philippine Islands Agricultural Bank.

    Sonny has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Ateneo De Manila University and attended the Executive Management Program at the Stanford University.

    Alex Valdez Buenaventura assumed as LANDBANK's 9th President and CEO in November 2016.

    Alex has 36 solid years of rural banking experience, dealing with small entrepreneurs, agro-industrial enterprises, farmers, cooperatives and other key economic players.

    Before joining LANDBANK, he was the long-time president and director of One Network Bank (ONB), the country’s largest rural bank in terms of assets, network of branches and net income. ONB is known to be a proponent of inclusive banking and a leading player in Mindanao. During his tenure at ONB, he focused on serving the unbanked and underbanked rural areas in southern Philippines.

    A veteran banker, Alex is the former president of the Rural Bankers Association of the Philippines (RBAP) and executive director of the Rural Bankers Research and Development Foundation Inc.

    He also served as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ateneo de Davao University and trustee of Holy Cross of Davao College Inc. and Davao del Norte State College in Panabo City.

    From 1995 to 1998, he was the private sector representative for Mindanao of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development (SMED) National Council.

    Alex is no neophyte in public service as he served the local government of Panabo City as chairman of the Municipal Industrialization Task Force and director of the Municipal Water District from 1994 to 1996.

    An academic achiever, he graduated with honors from elementary to his post-graduate studies. He took up AB Economics Honors Program at the Ateneo de Manila University and completed his Master's in Business Administration at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium.

    Emmanuel “Manny” Piñol belongs to a family of farmers whose grandparents migrated to Mindanao from Iloilo shortly after World War II and settled in M’lang, North Cotabato.

    Educated in public schools, Manny was the class valedictorian both in elementary grade and high school. He went to seven colleges and universities, including a brief stay in a Catholic seminary, before finally dropping out to pursue a career in print and broadcast journalism.

    Manny was elected Mayor of his hometown, M’lang, as a substitute to his ailing father, Bernardo Sr., in 1995 and three years later, he became governor of North Cotabato.

    For nine years, Manny advocated a market-oriented agriculture and job-generating governance which pulled out North Cotabato from the ranks of the 10 Poorest Provinces in the Philippines, reducing the poverty incidence from 52% to only 29% when his term ended in 2007.

    During his term as governor, Manny decided to finish his college degree under the Expanded Tertiary Equivalency Accreditation Program (ETEAP).  He proceeded to earn a Master’s degree in Rural Economic Development from the University of Southern Mindanao and is now pursuing a doctorate degree.

    A seasoned lawyer and human rights advocate, Secretary Silvestre "Bebot" H. Bello III has always been a worker for peace and a long-time public servant. In fact, he has unselfishly served the government under four presidents in various capacities.

    During the time of President Corazon Aquino, he was named Undersecretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ) from 1986 to 1991, then appointed Secretary until 1992. He served as Solicitor-General for two (2) years during the term of President Fidel Ramos, and again as Justice Secretary in 1998. Under the administration of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, he was tasked to lead the government panel in talking peace with the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front – a post he held for over a decade.

    Under the new Administration of President Rodrigo R. Duterte, aside from bestowing him with the task of successfully negotiating lasting peace based on justice, he was also entrusted to lead the charge to end “Endo,” illegal contractualization and ensure industrial peace.

    PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE / HIGHLIGHTS

    Bebot’s other past professional and civic involvements include holding top positions such as president and chief executive officer of the Philippine National Oil Company - Development & Management Corporation, general manager and chief executive officer of the Philippine Reclamation Authority, presidential adviser for New Government Centers, Cabinet Oversight Officer for Indigenous Peoples and National Commission on Indigenous Peoples Matters, Cabinet Officer for Regional Development for Region II, Cabinet Secretary, and 1BAP Party List Representative in the 16th Congress.

    Bebot also sat on the boards of a host of corporate giants including the Camp John Hay Development Corporation, San Miguel Corporation, CAP Realty Inc., College Assurance Plan, Comprehensive Annuity Plan & Pension Corp., Red Eagle Lending Investors Corp., CAP Life Insurance Corp., CAP General Insurance Corp., Puerto Azul, Baguio Country Club, Philippine Plaza Hotel, Urban Bank, and Ambassador Hotel. Likewise, he was once a part of the Board of Advisors of Philippine Airlines.

    Furthermore, Bebot is a distinguished  associate of various law offices namely Yulo & Bello; Yulo, Torres & Bello; Yulo, Quisumbing, Torres, Ali & Bello; Yulo, Torres, Tarriela & Bello; Tanjuatco, Oreta & Factoran; Pinlac, Feliciano, Partiza, Mojica & Bello; and C. Alcantara & Sons.

    A holder of a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the Manuel L. Quezon University (1961), Bebot took his Bachelor of Laws and graduated with distinction from the Ateneo de Manila University College of Law (1970).

    Secretary John R. Castricionces graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Trinity College (now Trinity University of Asia). He then pursued his Law degree at the San Beda College of Law and finished it at the Arellano University School of Law. He started practicing Law in 1993-- appearing in Regular Courts, both Inferior and Superior Courts, Administrative Bodies, Ombudsman, and Sandiganbayan among others.

    He earned his Master’s degree in Comparative Government and International Law at the Notre Dame University in London, UK in 1998.

    In 2009, he officially joined the government sector and moved his way up as Director of Investigation, Security and Law Enforcement Service under the then Department of Transportation and Communication.

    Under the current administration, he first served as Undersecretary for the Department of the Interior and Local Government in 2016, before his appointment as Secretary of Agrarian Reform in 2017.

    Secretary Castriciones joined LANDBANK in December 2017 and currently sits as the Chairman of the Trust Committee. He is also a member of the Bank’s Agri-agra Social Concerns and Risk Oversight Committees.

    Aside from being a successful Lawyer and public servant, Secretary Castriciones is also a published writer. He authored several books namely: Internal Revolution: Political Vengeance and Societal Perdition (2011); “A Risen Catholic Christian Soldier,” (1998); Philippine Military Academy Hazing Case: A General’s Son Dies (1990); and Sagutin Natin (1984).

    Director Virgilio De Vera Robes sits in the LANDBANK Board as Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries representative.

    A licensed real estate broker, Ver currently sits as chairman of Robesland, Inc. He is an advocate of sustainable organic farming and healthy lifestyle, to which he committed after he was diagnosed hypertensive and underwent a triple surgery several years later.

    He served as OIC – Vice Governor of Bulacan and senior adviser to former Bulacan Governor Roberto Pagdanganan. He was also a senior adviser to former San Jose del Monte, Bulacan Mayor Reynaldo San Pedro.

    Ver is also the founder and former president of Pugad Lawin Philippines, Inc. – San Jose del Monte, an NGO comprised of socio-civic leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs and other volunteers which focuses on addressing the plights of the less fortunate and promoting community building.

    Atty Jesus V. Hinlo currently serves as Private Sector Representative in the LANDBANK Board of Directors.

    He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Santo Tomas, majoring in Political Science and went on to finish his law degree at the University of Negros Occidental Recoletos, while working until his junior year.

    He commenced working at the credit card and non-life insurance subsidiaries of the Philippine National Bank before moving on to work in Bacolod City with the car dealerships of Volkswagen and Nissan. After obtaining his Law Degree, he worked with a Manila-based law office and with San Miguel Corporation in Bacolod City. After passing the Bar, he worked as a Trial Lawyer in several law firms, including his own.

    In 2016, he was appointed as Undersecretary for Public Safety of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG). His office supervised the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Public Safety College, and the 911 Program of DILG.

    He joined LANDBANK last November 7, 2017 where he presently sits as the Chairman of the Audit and Compliance Committee and Vice-Chairman in the Investment and Loan Committee, Corporate Governance Committee, and Related Party Transactions Committee. He is also a member of the Risk Oversight Committee.

    Director Nancy Irlanda Tanjuatco is a well-respected news anchor who made her early mark specializing in business and the economy.  Her work doing exclusive interviews and covering Philippine and US elections as well as State of the Nation Addresses has been highly praised.  Her live studio coverage of Typhoon Yolanda received a special citation from the Catholic Mass Media Awards.

    As an Economics graduate of the University of the Philippines - Diliman, she was conferred the Dean’s Medal and Best Thesis  Co-Award.  Her early experience includes having worked at Citibank.

    Further to her work in media, she covered the 2002 APEC Summit held in Mexico in the aftermath of 9/11, as well the Philippine Government’s IT Roadshow in Silicon Valley that same year.

    She has served as moderator for highly-specialized events including Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ CEO Forum, Management Association of the Philippines’ International CEO Conference, Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines’ Digital Congress, and the Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines’ CEO Conference. She has also emceed a number of Initial Public Offering listing ceremonies as well as the Bell Awards for Corporate Governance for the Philippine Stock Exchange.

    Presently, Director Tanjuatco serves as Private Sector Representative on the LANDBANK Board of Directors where she is a member of the Corporate Governance, Investment and Loans, Risk Oversight, Trust, and Related Party Transactions Committees.

    Junet oversees the Bank’s human resources, facilities, procurement, corporate affairs and provident fund. Prior to joining this sector, he was head of the Strategic Planning Group which handles corporate planning and MIS, customer service and product development, as well as the bank’s program for Quality Management System.

    He currently sits as Chairman of the LANDBANK Accountability Assessment Committee, Building Committee, and the Head Office Bids and Awards Committee. He is also a member of the Management Committee, Asset Liability Committee and Information Technology Committee.

    He likewise sits as a director in LBP Leasing Corporation and Producers Savings Bank while serving as alternate director at the National Food Authority.

    Before LANDBANK, he worked at Price Waterhouse Coopers, as senior managing consultant. He also worked as a market analyst at the Hongkong Bank in Manila and as Research Associate at the Economic Forecasting Unit of the Center for Research and Communication.

    He graduated from De La Salle University Manila with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce major in Management of Financial Institutions, and earned Masteral units in Applied Business Economics from the Center for Research and Communication.

    As Head of LANDBANK’s  Agricultural and Development Lending Sector, Lito spearheads the delivery of financial services for the Bank’s mandated and priority sectors, as well as corporate and consumer clients.

    He joined LANDBANK in 1988 and has since held several key positions in both branch banking and lending, including Senior Vice President of the Mindanao Lending Group, First Vice President of the Visayas Lending Group, First Vice President of Mindanao Branches Group, and Vice President for Region 12 of the Mindanao Branches Group.

    He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the LANDBANK Countryside Development Foundation, Inc. and sits in the Board of LBP Service Corporation.

    Before joining LANDBANK, he worked at then Republic Planters Bank and the Bank of America Finance Corporation.

    A Certified Public Accountant, he earned his degree in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of the East, where he graduated cum laude.

    As Head of LANDBANK’s Operations Sector, Alan provides executive supervision and control over the Bank’s Controllership, Banking Operations, Banking Services, and Technology Management Groups.

    His nearly three-decade tenure in LANDBANK began with a technical specialist position in 1989, until he eventually occupied various management positions that allowed him to lead the improvement of the Bank’s customer service and business processes through automation and IT.

    Prior to heading the Bank’s Operations Sector, he was Senior Vice President of the Technology Management Group and was awarded as Outstanding Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the 10th ASEAN CIO/CSO Summits and Awards held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

    Alan has a degree in Computer Science from the University of the Philippines and has completed the Pacific Rim Bankers executive banking course at the University of Washington in 2012.

    Boobie has spent more than two decades in LANDBANK, holding various positions that equipped him with the experience and competence to lead the Bank’s Branch Banking Sector.

    From a management trainee in 1994, he rose from the ranks and has headed different units, including the Bank’s Visayas Branches Group, Lending Program Management Group, Credit Policy Department, among others. 

    Prior to his designation as Branch Banking Sector head, he led the Strategic Planning Group that monitors and evaluates the Bank’s performance and recommends strategic directions.

    Boobie earned his degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of the Philippines – Los Baños and pursued his master’s degree in Systems Agriculture at the University of Western Sydney which he completed in 1992.

    Executive Vice President - Treasury and Investment Banking Sector

    With his strong background in corporate finance and investment banking, Carel heads LANDBANK’s Treasury and Investment Banking Sector and is primarily responsible for the overall management of the Bank’s trading and investment units.  He also oversees the Bank’s funds, including balance sheet and liquidity and reserve management, and ensures the timely delivery of these funds to support the Bank’s business requirements.

    A licensed Treasury Professional, he has been with LANDBANK for 28 years and has led various units including the Bank’s financial markets, investment banking, and treasury groups.

    He has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the De La Salle University and completed the Ateneo Graduate School of Business’ Management Development Program.  He is also a licensed Geodetic Engineer and a state scholar from the Mines & Geo-Sciences Bureau - his first employer.
