Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) announced that it has already enrolled nearly 700 merchants to its Link.Biz Portal, which facilitates electronic payment to various government and private merchants, in support of the Government e-Payments (EGov Pay) Program of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). This makes LANDBANK the first bank to implement the EGov Pay. At the recent launching of the BSP’s EGov Pay and National Quick Response Code Standard (QR Ph) Programs, LANDBANK said a total of 349 government agencies and 332 private institutions to date are already enrolled in LANDBANK’s Link.Biz Portal, such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), among others. Meanwhile, LANDBANK said it has also adopted the QR Code for person-to-person (P2P) fund transfers between LANDBANK account holders. The LANDBANK Branch OnColl Facility will allow Calambeños to pay Real Property Taxes (RPT) to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Calamba City at any LANDBANK branch nationwide. As part of the agreement, LANDBANK shall accept payments from the clients of Calamba City LGU in the form of cash, authority to debit account, on-us checks, manager’s checks, and local checks. Under the MOA, LANDBANK shall make Link.BizPortal accessible to Calamba City clientele for the payment of fees and charges assessed manually. GENERAL SANTOS CITY, South Cotabato – The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) has committed to provide the Provincial Government of Sarangani with P1-billion worth of loans to fund the province's various development projects. LANDBANK President and CEO Cecilia Cayosa Borromeo and Sarangani Governor Rogelio D. Pacquiao signed the term sheet for the proposed loan on 19 January 2023 at the Grand Summit Hotel in General Santos City. They were joined by Vice Governor Dr. Elmer T. De Peralta, Provincial Administrator Atty. Ryan Jay R. Ramos, together with LANDBANK Senior Vice Presidents Ma. Celeste A. Burgos, Leila C. Martin, Charlotte I. Conde, and Camilo C. Leyba, and Vice President Eden B. Japitana, among other Bank officers. “LANDBANK fully supports the vision for Sarangani Province to have a self-sustaining and globally competitive economy. Together, let us continue to explore more avenues for collaboration, in the service of your constituents, and the nation at large,” said President Borromeo. The loan was approved by the LANDBANK Board on 25 January 2023. Of the P1-billion loan, Sarangani eyes to allocate P500 million for the acquisition of several heavy equipment, P200 million for hospital and medical equipment, and P300 million for the establishment of the Provincial Agri-Fisheries Complex. "My heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to LANDBANK for gladly opening its doors, once again, to the Provincial LGU of Sarangani with its proposal to raise as much as P1 billion to fund the province's programs and projects," Governor Pacquiao said. The governor added that the funding support will "fuel the work of the Provincial LGU as we intensify our efforts in delivering more basic services to the people, as well as reach targeted goals for a more resilient, dynamic, and progressive Sarangani." The Bank’s network expansion will culminate in 2024 with the establishment of a LANDBANK touchpoint in every municipality in the country in the form of physical branches, Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), Agent Banking Partners (ABPs), Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs), or Point-of-Sale (POS) facilities. As the biggest lender to the agriculture sector, LANDBANK targets to increase the number of small farmers and fishers it has cumulatively assisted to 3.6 million in 2023, among other key players in the agri-business value chain. The state-run Bank is also determined to increase its net income by at least 16% to P35 billion, by optimizing resources, maximizing yields from earning assets, generating return from non-earning assets, and expanding trust banking and Bancassurance business.
