State-run Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) officially inaugurated a servicing unit to exclusively service the banking requirements of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). Located on the ground floor of the BSP Multi-Story Building in Malate, Manila, the LANDBANK BSP Branch will provide the central bank with convenient access to the Bank’s products and services, including payroll servicing for BSP employees and payment facilitation to its third-party suppliers. More than 5,500 BSP employees—as well as employees of nearby government offices—are expected to benefit from the services of the LANDBANK BSP Branch, which is equipped with its own automated teller machine (ATM) and cash deposit machine (CDM). The servicing unit also features a Digital Corner where customers can open a deposit account in only 15 minutes or less using the Bank’s Digital Onboarding System (DOBS), a pioneering web application launched in 2019 to simplify the account enrolment process for individuals and institutional customers. Opening an account via DOBS provides automatic enrollment to LANDBANK’s digital banking channels for safe and convenient online transactions. The system also allows existing DOBS account holders to update their information. LANDBANK is the only bank present in all 81 provinces in the country with a total of 607 branches and 58 lending centers, servicing the requirements of a diverse customer base, including unbanked and underserved communities.

The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) offers a new product to help bring more unbanked and underserved Filipinos—including students, public utility vehicle drivers, vendors, household helpers, farmers, and fishers—into the country’s formal banking system. Through the LANDBANK “Perang Inimpok Savings Option” or PISO account, interested customers can open a LANDBANK deposit account with only P1.00 as minimum initial deposit and up to a maximum of P50,000 account balance. The depositor is only required to submit one (1) valid identification card or any Barangay certification, clearance, or ID for verification. The LANDBANK PISO account is being offered to individuals without an existing LANDBANK deposit account and have no capacity to open a regular deposit savings account with higher initial deposit and maintaining balance requirements. “The LANDBANK PISO is another testament of our commitment to advance the National Government’s financial inclusion agenda. We continue to develop accessible and convenient banking products relevant to the diverse needs of our customers, including the unbanked and underserved,” said LANDBANK President and CEO Cecilia C. Borromeo. With the LANDBANK PISO, accountholders can access the Bank’s array of digital banking channels such as the iAccess, Link.BizPortal, and the Mobile Banking App for fund transfer, bills payment, and balance inquiry services. Accountholders can also use the PISO account in any LANDBANK, BancNet, and 7-Eleven Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), domestic Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, and for over-the-counter transactions in their respective LANDBANK branch of account. Interested individuals may go to the nearest LANDBANK Branch in their area to open a LANDBANK PISO account. LANDBANK remains to be the only bank present in all of the country’s 81 provinces. This development benefits the 8.3 million previously unbanked Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Project registrants onboarded by LANDBANK in collaboration with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), as of end-September 2022. LAKE SEBU, South Cotabato – The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) has tapped the Lake Sebu Countryside Development Multipurpose Cooperative (MPC) to serve as its Agent Banking Partner in this underserved municipality, as part of the Bank’s mandate to advance greater financial inclusion in the country. As a LANDBANK Agent Banking Partner, the Lake Sebu Countryside Development MPC will now offer basic banking services, such as card sale, cash-in, cash-out, fund transfer, and bills payment, as well as other services that may be offered by LANDBANK in the future. The cooperative will also service the cash requirements of around 13,700 beneficiaries of the National Government’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Program in the area, who previously had to travel to the municipality of Surallah to withdraw their cash grants. “Our MOA signing represents a big step in providing access to banking services to the unbanked municipality of Lake Sebu. As we deliver our services closer to our customers here, we are also allowing them to enjoy lower transaction costs and save on travel expenses,” LANDBANK President and CEO Cecilia Cayosa Borromeo said. President Borromeo and Lake Sebu Countryside Development MPC Vice Chairman Felimon Elloran led the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement to formalize the partnership on 20 January 2023 at the Punta Isla Lake Resort in Lake Sebu. They were joined by the cooperative’s Manager, Rosie Makilan, and LANDBANK Senior Vice President Leila C. Martin. Under its Agent Banking Program, LANDBANK initiates partnerships with client cooperatives, associations, rural banks, local government units (LGUs), micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and private entities to help provide basic banking services to areas with limited or no Bank presence. As of 31 December 2022, LANDBANK has a total of 1,056 Agent Banking Partners nationwide, covering all 82 provinces and 827 municipalities. This includes 206 unbanked municipalities based on the list of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as of December 2021, and 621 underserved municipalities or with limited LANDBANK presence. The LANDBANK Agent Banking Program is in compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Circular No. 940 series of 2017, wherein banks are allowed to serve customers through cash agents contracted to perform selected banking services on its behalf in order to exponentially expand its reach and serve customers more efficiently.

President Borromeo examines the natural fertilizers produced by the participants from the Natural Farming Management Workshop. Among the farmer organizations who participated in the one-day training workshop include the Lake Sebu Vegetable Association (LAS VEGAS), Lake Sebu Indigenous Women and Farmers Association (LASIWFA), and the MNLF Luhib Lake Sebu Coconut Farmers Organization (MLLSCFO). Since July 2022, LCDFI has conducted 32 training sessions that benefitted a total of 6,000 farmers, fishers, and farm laborers from all the barangays of Lake Sebu. They form part of the total 300,300 training participants that LCDFI has supported nationwide from July 2020 until December 2022, located in 196 unbanked municipalities in 53 provinces. The LCDFI is a non-stock, non-profit corporate foundation of LANDBANK, and serves as its training arm to strengthen cooperatives and assist farmers and fishers in their development.

Majority of the P6 billion omnibus term loan agreement worth P2.85 billion will fund big-ticket infrastructure projects designed to enhance mobility and upgrade healthcare services in Pangasinan. Terminals, land ports, and bus stops will be built along the Pangasinan Link Expressway (PLEX) to complete an intermodal transportation system, designed to promote better mobility to local tourist destinations. Also in the pipeline are the construction of seaports, the expansion of the Lingayen Airport, and the construction of a new airport in Bani which will support a salt farm resort likewise to be developed. The LANDBANK loan will also cover the establishment and upgrading of provincial hospitals in the city of Urdaneta, and the municipalities of Lingayen, Tayug, San Carlos, Binalonan and Umingan. “The P6-billion loan is in full support of Pangasinan’s development agenda towards a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable local economy. This investment also underscores LANDBANK’s collaborative efforts for the province’s growth trajectory anchored on the efficient delivery of public service,” said LANDBANK President and CEO Cecilia Cayosa Borromeo. LANDBANK will also provide financing worth P1.95 billion to boost tourism activities, which include the construction of a new hotel which will carry an international brand, among other resorts for construction, and the development of event and entertainment facilities. The remaining P1.2 billion of the loan is allocated for the establishment of the Pangasinan Polytechnic College and the enhancement of several government centers. Aside from financing support, LANDBANK also opened a Corporate Center in Urdaneta City last year to provide the Province of Pangasinan wider access to convenient and responsive banking services. This year, LANDBANK will further expand its reach in the Province with three new ATMs in Alaminos City, Calasiao, and the unbanked municipality of Mapandan, alongside onboarding one Agent Banking Partner in Urbiztondo.
